Porter Girl?

Natalie has always wanted a little sister.

I guess this is really what happens when I leave Natalie in charge!

Oh me, oh my.

Chrstmas is St. George

Guess what Trevor, Natalie and Porter got for Christmas????

What a different kind of Christmas for us. It was a lot of fun. We headed down to the Sullenger's Tuesday evening and returned on Saturday. Craig even got in 9 holes of golf for Nana's B-day. Life is soooo good when you get to golf the day after Christmas.
My kids enjoyed being with the cousins. I'm sooo glad that they still like each other and want to hang out with each other.
Wednesday morning the Mom's got a few hours off to get some pedicures and lunch. It was wonderful. Just what I needed. We had Christmas eve at the Sullengers. Grandma Great, Georgia & Leonard and Heather and Garth & family all came over. Brian cooked RIBS. Oh yummmmm. (I still need the sauce recipe please). We enjoyed one anothers company and even opened some gifts.
The kids wouldn't go to sleep, so I had to stay up extra late to get everything ready for Christmas. Of course the kids woke up early too. They were so excited they just couldn't wait. Oh well. We had Nana & Pa on Skype with us when the kids were opening up their gifts. That was nice to be able to include them. I know you can't guess what Santa Clause brought me, so I'll try and help you out. Last year I got this great camera. This year I received this great ZOOM lens. Wow, what a difference it makes. Can you tell????
Liz & Brian's neighbor and his daughter were baptised Christmas night. I had met them when I went down over the 4th of July, so I went to the baptism too. It was such a wonderful experience to have on Christmas day. Not something you get to attend every year.
We came home and played games, watched Mama Mia and then the lights went out. It was kind of fun. We ate Ashley's GREAT cheesecake and sat around.
Friday us Mom's took the kids shopping (no great sales). The boys were off golfing. Then we stopped by Jumping Jacks for the kids to play around. They do enjoy that. That night we went to the rec center. Brian took the kids swimming, Liz and I walked the track and Craig watched football in the foyer (cable went out at the Sullengers after the lights went out).
We got up on Saturday morning and got packed up and left. We did do a stop for lunch at IN and OUT Burgers. My favorite. My kids like it too now. Even Porter ate all his cheeseburger. He usually eats chicken nugget's.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAM 2008

You know by the title that this is going to be good. Preschool programs are always so enjoyable. You look at all the kids and think, "thank goodness that one is not mine." You know you do. Just admit to it. So Craig quickly spots the boy who is grabbing himself. Whew! It's not my kid.

Porter was front and center stage for his program last night. We really want to THANK Mrs. Eggett (teacher) for placing him there. He always has to be the center of attention.
So as the program started, I could tell that there was going to be trouble with him and the little boy next to him (Blake). Oh yes those two little mischievous boys. The two of them start out by boxing each other, Mrs. Eggett is playing the piano and her sister in law and 2 nieces are singing this song.
I had put pants on Porter that I thought were his. WRONG! They were his friends and they were too big for him. We were in such a hurray I told him to just wear them and that he'd be fine. So he's up on stage constantly pulling his pants up. When him and Blake start boxing, Porter decided to show him his underwear. The pants didn't come down too far, however... Craig claps his hands together so loudly (in the middle of the song) and told me to get up there and get it taken care of. Great! I think I was more embarrassed over the clapping of Craig's hands then Porter and his pant issue. After all, this is what really what makes a program memorable. Don't you think?
It was a very cute program. Porter now is really into the reindeer's and their names. It's very funny. He'll ask me when we are reading a book or watching a show, "Which reindeer do you think this is?" He knows all of their names.

Santa Clause came too. It was really our home teacher from our ward (Chris Glad). The kids got very excited and Porter ran over their first to sit on his lap. So this morning at breakfast he was asking me when he could get on the computer and talk to Santa. I told him he talked to Santa last night at his party. He said to me, "No I didn't, that was just Uncle Chris dressed up." I laughed hard. He's too smart for me. I'm going to have to try and stay 2 steps in front of this child.

Porter's Birthday

4 years old!! Wow, that has really flown by. This year we went down to Kangaroo Zoo. This exhausted most of the kids. Here is my FAVORITE picture of my 4 year old boy. So cute.

The Zoo was filled with kids. All the ones we invited too. We had the place to ourselves (not on purpose). We had about 20 friends and family members there. The kids got to run around and play for the first 1:45 minutes. That was almost too long. I had kids wanting to go home and some that got hurt every 2 or 3 minutes. I think after about an hour they were really all ready to eat dinner. Oh well.

We started them out the carrots and celery sticks while we waited for the pizza to arrive.

We moved onto Porter's highlight of the day, the PRESENTS. He had waited a very long time to open birthday presents. To him this was the symbol that he was really 4 years old. We were in the BUG room. They had cute little tables and chairs for the kids. These kids went through 3 large pizzas that were double cut. They were HUNGRY.

He received a remote control truck, auqadoodle mat, movie tickets, money for McDonalds, trucks, dinosaur and book, shark, alligator, buzz light year gun, walkie talkies, punching bag, a puzzle and a pair of PJ's. All the gifts were very generous. He has been in his room ALL afternoon going through each of his gifts.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PORTER. WE LOVE YOU!

NEW CAR!

We'll first off I don't want anyone to think we turned to the other side. We are still BIG UTAH fans.
Car colors have nothing to do with who you root for. But when your husband calls you at work and asks you what you think and if you can meet him for lunch to go look at cars.... you don't just ignore him, you jump out of your seat and you are gone.
So here it is, the new car. And YES, it does fit in the garage. YEAH!! Porter likes the back row all to himself. It's pretty nice too because they made it into a "theater" style seat so it's up higher than the middle bench. I'm going to have to add some RED to it somewhere though. Any suggestions????

My sister Liz thinks we need to tell you the type of car. I was thinking we'd just have people guess. I could sell tickets and the winner will get... Never mind. It is a USED 2008 Ford Expedition XLT EL (extended length). We were going to go with a 2007, but Craig (no, not Anne) changed his mind at the dealership and decided to go with this one so we have the extra room in the back. Big test for Anne will be tomorrow when I go to work. Will it pass everyone approval at work????

Scale

The correct way to weigh yourself!

I can't believe I was doing it wrong all these years.
WE MUST SPREAD THE WORD.

How many 'Bob's' does it take to build a deck?

So, how many Bob's does it take to build a deck????
......................................................................
..........................................................................
..............................................................................
..................................................
2 'Bob's' and 1 Bubba.

Porter has been waiting 2 days for Jeremy Roberts to come and build the deck. He has walked all over the boards and jumped from the pile of them too. Now he is out with Jeremy & Craig learning how to build the deck. And boy does he have 20 questions for them.

He even made me put on his "Buzz lightyear" hat - just like the guys AND his "Bob the Builder" tool belt, with screwdrive (can't find the hammer). He is taking this deck building very serious. He doesn't even want to play with friends today. Which is amazing considering he has been grounded all week and hasn't been able to play.

Hopefully he'll learn all that he'll need to so that the next deck we need to do, we can assign it to him.

Aha moment

Okay so many of you know that I've been doing weight watchers for about a year now. It's been a good thing for me and I've lost about 40 pounds so far. I've purchased new clothes to go along with the new size that I am now too.
So last week I was doing laundry and pulling the levi's out of the dryer and folding them. I pulled out a pair of levi's and looked at them for about a minute trying to decide who's they were. They were ladies jeans, but too big for Natalie but they looked like they were about Trevor's size. All of a sudden it hit me that they were mine. It is nice for me to be able to see the change in me too.

HALLOWEEN TIME

The tradition for the past 7 years has been going to the Pack's Pumpkin Farm in Farmington for our pumpkins. Last year we were given a load of pumpkins from G&G Randall and our neighbors, so there was no need to go and get more. We'll on Friday night, while we were eating our Taco Soup for dinner, I thought we better go to the farm tonight BEFORE the snow flies over the weekend. Next week it will be way too muddy. So we bundled up and headed out. I love going there. They have a hay maze for the kids. Porter really liked that because he could do it all by himself. Trevor was excited just to get the biggest pumpkin he could find. Then I decided that while we are here, we might as well go through the corn maze. That is always so much fun. What a fun - spur of the moment event. Aren't they always the best? Now go and take your family to the pumpkin patch!
