1st week of summer

Wow! What a 1st week of summer it has been. Natalie went to a birthday party on Saturday and broke her lest wrist on the monkey bars. Way to go!!! So Monday I spent 1/2 day at the insta care to learn that they call it a "squishy". What the heck? We got a good laugh at that. The bone has not completely broke. It was a compound fracture. It hasn't slowed her down at all. We had it cast on Tuesday by our Dr. It's water proof so she can swim this summer (if it warms up). She'll get it off July 8th. The first night she had it on, she had an itch that wouldn't go away. We finally got the butter knife to take care of it. She did manage to start piano lessons this week with it on. She's very excited to be able to start playing again.

Trevor thought it would be fun to teach Porter how to ride a two wheeler. He can do it. The only problem is that he doesn't know how to stop. We'll work on that one before we let him loose. He does not believe in wearing shoes outside. And if he does wear them out side, he doesn't come back with them on. Do you think super glue would work? My kids survived taking care of themselves while I was at work. I hope it gets better though. They seem to get along fine, they just forgot the rule of cleaning up after themselves. Hopefully we can remember that rule this week. Oh well.

Trevor's 1st week was spent at summer PE. He has a lot to do for summer PE but gets rewarded on Fridays by going on hikes up the mountains around here. I really think he enjoys it. It will be

nice for him to stay active for the month of June. He starts this week summer school for math. He struggled with math this year. We hope he can get his grade up to a C-. I also hope this new teacher will work with him and help him to understand this math better. I hope she will also take an interest in the kids. Trevor's biggest weakness is testing. Anyone have any ideas? Sylvan doesn't work. Already tried that.

He played his 1st double header today. That was a lot of fun. He had 2 great hit (one single and one double) and got to base on a drop ball 3 strike rule. The other team kept overthrowing it so he ended up on 2nd base. He only got home once and was left on 3rd base the other two times. He did also strike out once. I had a nice complement from his coach from 2 years ago before the game. Larry Knudson is his name and he came up to me and said that he's playing really well this year. That he's been down at the ball park a lot this year and has been watching him play and is very impressed at how well he does. I made sure that I shared that with Trevor. He was pretty excited that someone has noticed and commented. He was also asked to try out for all-stars. I'm afraid that it's going to be the weeks that he's suppose to be in St. George and Moab (scout camp). I told him that he should try out, and if it does happen to be those weeks, then he's going to have to choose. That's all we can do. It's great that he was asked. His game has improved so much over the last 2 years. It started last year when Craig was coaching his team. I think that was such a HUGE boost to him. It's really fun to see him play baseball! What a GREAT sport it is!!!!

Craig has been busy today. We got the permit from the city and the gas line moved to the east side of our house this week, so today Craig finished the dig. We have no stairs to the front door (I'll have to put out our old mail box for the mailman now) and we are ready for gravel then forms. YEAH!! Of course my big project this week will be to clean out the food storage room. Not looking forward to that. But my biggest question is, where do I put the stuff? Does anyone need anything from my pantry items?

My kids reward this week was going to be to go to Waterhaven for a swim, but instead we choose to try Kangaroo Zoo down on Redwood Rd. It was a lot of fun. BIG inflatable toys for the kids to jump around on. I think Porter liked it the most. We didn't lose his shoes, but we did lose his socks. They also have a little (I mean LITTLE) miniature golf course. It's NEON - like that's going to make it fun - but was just okay. This will be a great place for Porter's Birthday party in December. Natalie said that she wants her there too. We will see if she gets to have one there too.
We'll on to week #2... What new adventure will we have?

I'll take whatever you want to send from your food storage. I don't think either of us can afford it. Sure was happy to see something new on the blog. It is fun to see what is going on. All I can do is wish you well with your project. When you are finally done you will have the best house ever.
