FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Well, there are just some things that we parents look forward to in life more than our kids do. Of course at the top of our list is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. How wonderful a day it is. We've had a fun summer, and now it's time to get back to work. Trevor thinks he's too old for me to still be taking his first day of school picture. I've got news for him. WRONG! He was so handsome this morning. We do need to work on remembering to bring home all our stuff that parents need to look at. He wasn't very thrilled with it, but he wasn't totally negative. It will get better when they actually start getting into work.

Natalie of course was up and ready in no time. She had a hard time going to sleep last night and woke up about 5:30 am. She'll be out tonight (hopefully early). Our neighbor is her teacher and she is thrilled to be in her class. She found her desk and all of her friends. She has 3/4 of the kids from our ward in her class too. That will be fun. She looked so cute in her NEW school outfit. What will she wear tomorrow?????? She already has her homework for the week done, except for reading. She's going to do fine in 5th grade. I get to go and help out on Thursday's (when Porters at preschool) with MATH! I loved doing this for Colleen when Trevor was in her class, and will continue to help her out when & where I can.

Then there is Porter. He'll start preschool on September 9th. Not soon enough. Oh well. He got up and dressed and got his stuff in his backpack (Thomas the train, of course) and was ready to go. I kept reminding him that his school doesn't start today. That did not matter. So after we found Natalie's desk and spoke with her teacher, Porter looks at me and asked, "Mom, where's my desk?" Colleen got a chair out from the table and told him he could sit there. Then when Natalie put her back pack outside, he had to hang up his too. He also insisted that I get a picture of his back first, then his front. He's too funny! If we do it his way, then nobody gets too upset. Isn't he cute! I'll write about his first day of preschool in a few weeks.
Hope we like the 2nd day of school too.

So cute!!! Hopefully the smiles stay in tact through out the whole year! Porter is such a cutie. He's going to do great! I can't wait for my turn!

Did they sweat in your hot weather? It was cooler in St. George than Bountiful on your first day of school. Go figure. Hope the school year is off to a great start. Remember to bring things home for your mom, Trevor!!
